Did Government Officials Kill “Peanut the Squirrel” and “Fred the Raccoon”?

The criminal treatment of Peanut, the squirrel’s owners, as well as the decision to euthanize both Peanut and Fred the raccoon seem like a power play by local bureaucrats. Both Peanut and Fred were rescued, rehabilitated, and cherished by their owners, who shared their animals’ stories online.

For Peanut the Squirrel and Fred the Raccoon, who had become domesticated and dependent on humans, officials determined that Execution of the animals was their only option without informing the owners. The owners were not given the opportunity to apply for the necessary permits before Bureaucrats decided to Kill two innocent lives. In remembrance of both Peanut and Fred.
